EIT Climate-KIC is breaking down the barriers to successful climate innovation.
We work with an innovation model of knowledge and technology exchange called the knowledge helix. The helix model is based on flows of knowledge and experimental learning between the government, academia, industry, and civil society. These learning processes feed back on strategy and decision-making to create socially accountable policies and practices.
The knowledge helix model aims to:
- connect expertise with resources and know-how;
- help sectors overcome information silos and gaps;
- help reduce the risk associated with innovation by being the first to invest and support;
- nurture the most innovative ideas and apply scientific insights to commercial contexts.
