Startups ClimateLaunchpad haalden zeker € 100 miljoen op

Ruim achtduizend banen en zeker 100 miljoen euro aan investeringen. Dat zijn de resultaten van de oud-deelnemers aan ClimateLaunchpad, die meewerkten aan het impactonderzoek van de organisatie. ClimateLaunchpad, de grootste wedstrijd voor cleantech startups ter wereld, maakt deze resultaten bekend aan de vooravond van de finale van 2019, op 14 en 15 november in Amsterdam. 

Impactonderzoek

Meer dan 20 startups uit het onderzoek hebben ieder meer dan een miljoen euro aan externe financiering opgehaald. Bijna de helft, 230 bedrijven, verkoopt inmiddels producten of diensten aan klanten. Vorig jaar bedroeg hun gezamenlijke winst ruim 18 miljoen euro. 

Sinds haar oprichting hebben zeker 1.900 startups uit de hele wereld deelgenomen aan  het ClimateLaunchpad programma. Al deze bedrijven zijn benaderd voor het impactonderzoek. Bijna 500 van hen hebben eraan meegewerkt. Het volledig rapport verschijnt over een week. 

ClimateLaunchpad 2019

ClimateLaunchpad is de grootste wedstrijd voor cleantech startups ter wereld. Dit jaar wordt de competitie voor de zesde keer georganiseerd. Zeker 120 startups uit 53 landen zullen dit jaar in de finale strijden om de hoofdprijs van € 10.000. 

ClimateLaunchpad is veel meer dan een wedstrijd. Deelnemers krijgen trainingen, mentoring, netwerkmogelijkheden met financiers en toegang tot populaire accelerator-programma’s. Sinds de start in 2013 heeft ClimateLaunchpad duizenden startups op alle continenten bereikt en getraind. ClimateLaunchpad wil iets doen aan klimaatverandering en gelooft dat dit het best kan door gebruik te maken van de  inventiviteit, de innovatiekracht en de ideeën van ondernemers. 

De finale van ClimateLaunchpad 2019 vindt plaats op donderdag 14 november en vrijdag 15 november in B.Amsterdam, Johan Huizingalaan 763 in Amsterdam. Het volledige programma vindt u hier. 

ClimateLaunchpad is een initiatief van EIT Climate-KIC. EIT (European Institute for Innovation and Technology) is een onafhankelijk EU-innovatiefonds gericht op het vergroten van het Europees concurrentievermogen door innovatief talent te ondersteunen. EIT Climate-KIC (Knowledge and Innovation Community) is een netwerk van EIT dat als doel heeft de transitie naar een economie zonder CO2-uitstoot te versnellen.
